Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of the Ukrainian World Congress to discuss steps for strengthening global support for Ukraine.
According to the press service, the Head of State congratulated attendees on Independence Day and thanked the Ukrainian World Congress for their active work, which strengthens Ukraine and ensures our voice is heard internationally.
Zelenskyy emphasized the particular importance of working with governments, parliaments, and communities of other nations to bolster Ukraine’s air defense, exert pressure on Russia, and increase financial aid to our country. The President stated that every nation is crucial, especially those located far away – in North and South America, Asia, and Oceania.
“Air defense, finances, sanctions – these are probably the key things that need to be overcome this winter. But voice is very important, of course, as is political and informational support,” the president stressed.
Representatives of the Ukrainian World Congress pledged to intensify their efforts regarding the protection of Ukrainian skies, sanctions against Russia, and Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
“We will continue to focus our work on fundraising, advocacy, so that Ukraine receives maximum military assistance. We have also come to thank the Ukrainians who work daily in Ukraine, supporting Ukraine. We want to thank them for their courage and bravery,” said the president of the Ukrainian World Congress, Paul Grod.
The Head of State awarded the Order of Merit, III Class, to Yuriy Klufas, president of the Ukrainian National Association of Canada, and the President of Ukraine’s “Golden Heart” award to Christian Borys, founder of the Saint Javelin organization, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and journalist.
